Our first bathroom project taught us a lot: from ceiling to floor; from plumbing to electrical; and everything in between...This project took about 5 months to complete (sad, huh), because we worked on it mostly in the evenings and on weekends My son helped out as much as he can. He really enjoyed demolishing the floor and the walls of the shower stall. Can you say smashing bowl - toilet that is. My son and I took a 4 lb, steel mallet and WHAM! It was beautiful. The thing just exploded into pieces. The tiling work, from tile selection, cutting and laying, was completed between my wife and me. This was a collaborative effort, for as many disagreements we have had, we had as many ideas on how to resolve problems that came up. Usually, I injure myself with major projects around the house, and this one was no exception. While placing the wall tiles, I accidentally drilled my right, pointer finger so badly that it left a permanent lump on my fingertip and it is slightly numb to this day. Well, we are looking forward to the next bathroom project….
